While we are working on getting our own youth website, we wanted to provide a way for everyone to spend time with God daily. Sometimes when we read our Bibles we get lost and do not know where to start. This page will provide a way for us to read a Bible passage everyday together. This is not the only way of doing daily devotions, but if you don’t know where to start….this will help!
The translation we will use is out of The Message. It is a great translation for people who are just starting to read the Bible everyday. It is fresh and easy to understand! Enjoy spending time with the Creator of the heavens, the earth and YOU!
“While he was in Bethany, reclining at the table in the home of a man known as Simon the Leper, a woman came with an alabaster jar of very expensive perfume, made of pure nard. She broke the jar and poured the perfume on his head.
Some of those present were saying indignantly to one another, “Why this waste of perfume?
It could have been sold for more than a year’s wages and the money given to the poor.” And they rebuked her harshly
“Leave her alone”, said Jesus. “Why are you bothering her? She has dona a beautiful thing to me.
The poor you will always have with you, and you can help them anytime you want. But you will not always have me here.
She did whats she could. She poured perfume on my body beforehand to prepare for my burial. I tell you the truth, wherever the gospel is preaches throughout the world, what she has done will also be told, in memory of her.”
Mark 14:3-9
Today, take some time to pray with God. Dont worry about how good it sounds or what to say, just spend time talking with your heavenly Father!
